Pulling Back The Curtains

When we moved into our home I knew the first project that I wanted to tackle was window treatments for our great room. My husband David, had reservations about window treatments. David loved the woodwork/trim and didn’t want it covered up. Also, he was concerned that our daughter would tug on the curtains and pull them down. I could understand some of his concerns but I told him I had a vision and he told me to go for it. I wanted a timeless look. The paint color is Dorian Gray by Sherwin Williams. We have 10-foot ceilings and white trim throughout our home. I chose an antique silver rod with crystal finials. After researching many different curtain options, I came across these Loha Linen grommet top window curtains from Target. The curtains come in a variety of colors and sizes. I chose winter white and for the size, I chose the 54”x 108” which was perfect for our 10-foot ceilings. When the curtains arrived, I was really impressed with the quality and I liked that the fabric was thin enough to still let some sunlight into our great room. The curtains can be hand washed in case they ever get stained which was one of our concerns especially with having a toddler. The day we had our curtains installed I remember my husband walking into our home and the look on his face said it all. He absolutely loved them. He felt that it accentuated the height of our ceiling and it softened the room. Needless, to say I was right with my vision!
